BEGINNING DECEMBER 2008 LOOK FOR BILL PAY ON THE LEFT HAND BUTTONS ON YOUR ON LINE BANKING SITE!!!

We have entered into a contract with a Bill payment system for your convenience. After much searching and testing, Paytraxx has become the bill payment service for the Strip Steel Community Federal Credit Union. It was the most efficient bill payment company and the most cost effective. If you would like to have the convenience of paying your bills directly from your checking account only, you must click on the button and sign up, After review of you application, your account will be approved or denied based on your share draft history. At this time there will be a $4.50 charge per month to use this service. We are looking into a way that perhaps this service will not have to be paid for my you and if the fee is taken away you will be notified. We currently offer all our services free unless you abuse them. If you have any suggestions regarding this, please feel free to contact the office with them.  With bill pay there really isn't a necessity for checks so therefore perhaps you would be willing to pay for your checks and have bill pay free as you would be using less personal checks. In the critical days following Hurricane Katrina, the treasury worked with the Social security Administration to get displaced Social Security and SSI recipients their payments as quickly as possible. However, those who were already using direct deposit had immediate access to their funds from virtually anywhere, thanks to automated teller machines and financial institution networks.

Just as important, direct deposit eliminates the risk of stolen checks and forgeries and helps protect people from identity theft. Fraud and identity theft are growing concerns for all Americans, including those who receive federal benefits. For several years now credit unions have joined forces with the NCUA and the Treasury Department to encourage our members to use direct deposit for their payroll checks, social security benefits, pension benefits, VA benefits, etc. There are still about 12 million people who do not take advantage of this benefit and still wish to receive a paper check.
